A Kotlin and Compose app that counts steps all day through a foreground service on the hardware step counter, and records walks as GPS routes on a MapLibre map. Built for one phone and installed from an APK.
How it knows: Each sample carries the phone's boot count, and the accumulator has a test for a first sample, a reboot, two reboots in a row and a counter going backwards; a walk with the app closed counted 92 of 100 hand-counted steps.
